While Ben Affleck is navigating his and Jennifer Lopez‘s divorce, he allegedly has a “mercy squad” around him. Lopez has her bestie, Leah Remini, and as for Affleck, he has his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. And amid this “mercy squad” mindset, insiders allege she’s going to visit him “nearly every day” to make sure he’s handling everything fine.

Insiders recently told InTouch Weekly that Garner has visited Affleck so much to allegedly make sure he doesn’t fall back into old habits.

“That’s the main reason you’re seeing Jen going over there nearly every day to make sure he’s okay. His mother, his brother and his close friends, like Matt Damon, are helping out too,” the insider said. “They’re all in touch with him and with each other. They’re very much a team and acting as a de facto support group for him. If they’re seeing a thing to worry about, they alert each other immediately. Ben knows they’re all in touch, but he doesn’t know the extent of it.”

So, Garner really is just helping Affleck out the best she can, making sure he doesn’t go back to old addictions and ensuring he’s living his best life during his ongoing divorce from Lopez.

Now, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard about Garner checking up on Affleck all the time. In fact, along with going over to his home, he’s gone over to her home so much that, per Life and Style Magazine, that Garner has allegedly even thought about him moving in for a brief period of time til he gets back on his feet. (And despite what her boyfriend John Miller reportedly feels about it.)

“[Ben’s] got a key to come and go as he pleases, and he’s been spending a ton of time at [Jennifer Garner’s] place, coming over for dinners and hanging with the kids,” a source said to the outlet. “It’s great for his state of mind and the kids love having him around, [and this is] why Jen’s open to the idea of having him move back in.”

As for Affleck and Garner, they met in 2000 while filming Pearl Harbour, while Affleck was engaged to Lopez and Garner was married to Scott Foley. Their romantic relationship didn’t begin until 2004, and then they married in Turks and Caicos in June 2005. They later welcomed three children: Violet Anne Affleck, 18, Seraphina Rose Elizabeth Affleck, 15, and Samuel Garner Affleck, 12.

The couple officially filed for divorce in 2017, and in 2018, they finalized their divorce.

Despite divorcing, Garner has helped Affleck navigate his divorce from Lopez. For those who don’t know, Lopez and Affleck dated, and were engaged from 2002 to 2004. Then, in 2021, Lopez and Affleck rekindled their romance, and a year later, they got engaged and married in a lavish ceremony. Then, after months of speculation, per TMZ, Lopez filed for divorce on Aug. 20, noting the date of separation is April 26, 2024.
