While Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have been weathering their split, Jennifer Garner has offered her ex-husband a tremendous amount of support over the summer. It hasn’t been unusual to see them together, taking their kids to Japan and getting their oldest daughter Violet settled at Yale. The extra attention on Affleck’s relationship with Lopez also shifted some of the spotlight onto Garner and her boyfriend, John Miller.

The couple, who has always kept their romance off the Hollywood radar, haven’t been spotted together much this summer. A Life & Style source claimed that the duo was “on a break” because it’s been almost four months since the paparazzi snapped them together. The insider blamed the stress of Affleck’s marriage falling apart on Garner’s alleged breakup. “Jen’s had so much going on with Ben, it just took a toll, and she and John ended up going their separate ways,” they said. “It wasn’t her choice.”

Well, it appears that rumor isn’t true because People entered the chat to confirm that Garner and Miller are “happy” and still together. Just because she’s been with Affleck in a summer filled with major milestones for their 18-year-old daughter, nobody should assume anything about Garner and Miller’s relationship. The duo began dating in 2018 and endured a brief split during the pandemic. They reunited in 2022 and have been going strong ever since.

“They meet at each other’s houses — even for a quick glass of wine or for a low-key dinner date night away from prying eyes,” an Us Weekly source divulged in July 2022. Garner and Miller’s “very private” dating strategy also aligned with Garner’s parenting philosophy — she wanted her kids out of the limelight as much as possible. “I’d go do a school run and it’d be 15 cars going with me,” Garner admitted to The Hollywood Reporter in 2021. “I never had a day without them, and if I did, if I made it to a park by hiding in the bottom of the pool man’s truck or something, then a nanny would see me there and call a number and they’d swarm.”

Garner also experienced her own headline-generating split from Affleck in the past when he allegedly had a fling with their nanny — so, it’s understandable that she wants to keep her romance with Miller as quiet as possible. The duo will go public when they are ready. In the meantime, no one should assume that Garner and Affleck are anything more than co-parenting friends.
