Caitlin Clark is in the midst of a sensational rookie season with the Indiana Fever, leading the league with an impressive 8.5 assists per game. Her remarkable playmaking has her on the verge of yet another historic milestone. Clark currently has 306 assists for the 2024 season, just 11 away from breaking the all-time single-season assist record set by Alyssa Thomas in 2023.With two regular-season games ahead against the reigning WNBA champions, the Las Vegas Aces, Clark is poised to shatter the record if she maintains her current pace. She has been particularly consistent lately, recording at least 10 assists in four of her last five games. In the Fever’s recent overtime victory against the Atlanta Dream, Clark put up 26 points and 12 assists, showcasing her ability to dominate as both a scorer and a facilitator.

If she continues performing at this level, it’s only a matter of time before she sets yet another WNBA record.

Caitlin Clark has already cemented her place in WNBA history by breaking the all-time rookie record for assists in a single season, surpassing the 225 mark set by Ticha Penicheiro during her 1998 debut with the Sacramento Monarchs. In addition to this milestone, Clark also owns the WNBA’s all-time single-game assist record, dishing out an incredible 19 assists in a game against the Dallas Wings just before the All-Star break. These achievements further highlight her exceptional playmaking ability and her impact in her rookie season.
