The Indiana Fever have announced the addition of as their new Player Development Coach.
Porter brings extensive experience to the Fever, having recently served as the Player Development Coach for the Connecticut Sun during the 2023-24 WNBA season. In this role, he collaborated with current Fever Head Coach Stephanie White and contributed significantly to the success of several standout players. Among his notable achievements was aiding in the development of Alyssa Thomas, a member of the All-WNBA First Team, as well as working closely with WNBA All-Stars DeWanna Bonner and Brionna Jones. Porter also played a pivotal role in mentoring Dijonai Carrington, who earned the WNBA Most Improved Player award under his guidance.
Beyond his WNBA experience, Porter is the Head Coach of the Kosovo Heritage Basketball Academy, located in Pristina, Kosovo. At the academy, he oversees the training and development of more than 400 players annually, showcasing his dedication to nurturing basketball talent on an international scale. His efforts in this role reflect his commitment to player growth and excellence.
Porter’s basketball career began on the court, where he played two seasons at the University of Connecticut Avery Point, a Division III program. During his time there, he led the nation in scoring, earned All-American honors, and was later inducted into the program’s Hall of Fame. Following his collegiate success, Porter continued his basketball journey with professional stints in Spain and Puerto Rico.
Porter’s vast coaching and playing experience, combined with his ability to cultivate talent at both the professional and grassroots levels, makes him a valuable addition to the Indiana Fever’s staff. His appointment aligns with the Fever’s ongoing efforts to build a competitive team and develop their roster for future success in the WNBA.
