While it’s been heavily alleged that Jennifer Lopez is upset about Ben Affleck’s smoking habits, these insiders paint a whole new story, and it shows the reported rifts between Lopez and Affleck with Jennifer Garner may be far from over.

Despite Lopez’s allegedly extremely strict no-drinking or smoking rule in the house, and while she’s been trying to get him to quit smoking, it’s more or less been to no avail. In fact, insiders claim that Garner thinks Lopez isn’t doing enough to get Affleck to quit his old habit.

“Jen and J.Lo have very different views on it,” the insider told OK. “J.Lo is grateful Ben is sober, and if he needs to smoke to get through the day, it’s better than falling off the wagon.”

Along with that, Garner allegedly finds it “disgusting,” and has placed firm boundaries on how he goes about this when in the presence of their chilɗren Violet, 18, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 11.

The insider claims the Alias alum “has strict rules that she expects Ben to follow, like not lighting up around the kids.” (And this rule was broken recently when the Good Will Hunting star was seen smoking in Lopez’s luxury car, with his and Garner’s son Samuel inside).

So either this is another rift happening, or Lopez and Garner agree heavily on something they wish Affleck would quit. Either way, the blended family does set aside their differences when their kids are involved, and that’s always a wonderful thing for the kids to have.

For those that don’t know, Lopez and Affleck were together from 2002 to 2004 after meeting on the set of Gigli. A few years after they called off their engagement, Affleck tied the knot with Garner in 2005 and welcomed three chilɗren named Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel.

They broke up in 2015, and the divorce was finalized in 2018. Then, Lopez and Affleck rekindled their romance in 2021, and wed a year later.
