Clark‘s memorable season saw her post 19.2 points per game, 8.4 assists per game and 5.2 rebounds as well as various records as the 22-year-old spurred the Fever onto their first postseason appearance since 2016.
As a result, she was not only a shoo-in for ROTY but was also in the MVP race although she was eventually beaten by the Las Vegas Aces’ A’ja Wilson as she finished fourth in the voting standings.
Nonetheless, the Dallas Mavericks’ Doncic, formerly NBA Rookie of the Year, decided to celebrate the success of Clark in a message online.

“Caitlin, congratulations on an amazing season,” Doncic said via social media. “Rookie of the Year is a big honor. You deserve it. Congratulations.”
The Slovenian won his own ROTY award in the 2018-19 NBA season when he averaged 21.2 points per game, 7.8 rebounds per game and six assists per game as the Texas side went on to finish 14th in the Western Conference with a .402 record.
He beat Deandre Ayton and Trae Young to the prize and won 98% of the vote, becoming he second Mavericks player to ever claim the award at the then-age of 20.
