On Monday, the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets met to close out Week 6 of the NFL regular season. During the third quarter, Bills safety Damar Hamlin took a. huge shot from wide receiver Garrett Wilson.

The hit was hard enough to make Hamlin’s helmet fly off before hitting the ground. However, he would quickly get back up.

After the hit, a fake ESPN Twitter troll named Ryan Evans made a post referencing Hamlinm’s injury history and fragility.

“MURDER: #Jets WR Garrett Wilson almost just KILLED #Bills S Damar Hamlin for a 2nd time. Should the NFL DEMAND Damar to play wrapped in bubble wrap?” they wrote.

That was enough for Damar’s father, Mario, to fire shots back.

Should we bury your mom in bubble wrap, Don’t play with my son’ name or his situation,” Mario wrote back in a quote tweet. It would quickly be deleted but captured by many social media users.

Luckily, Damar didn’t suffer any serious injuries from the hit. His father might not have given the best response to the ridiculous tweet, but at least he was still willing to defend his son.

Damar Hamlin Keppy Getting More Playing Time

Hamlin was originally a sixth-round pick from the Bills in 2021 and was mostly a special teamer during his rookie season.

However, by his second year, he had been on the field for 86% of the team’s defensive plays. It was that same year he suffered a cardiac arrest in a game against the Bengals.

That prevented him from participating in much of 2023, but now, in 2024, he has solidified himself as a starter.

He has played in 99% of the Bills’ defensive snaps and recorded one interception, four pass deflections, and 38 tackles.
