Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese proved the two can get along and play together as the rookie sensations teamed up in the WNBA All-Star game on Saturday night.
Team WNBA faced off against Team USA as the latter’s preparations for the Paris Olympics were ramped up, ironically against those who missed out on the roster. The Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky stars proved their future Olympic credentials as they helped the WNBA side to a 117-109 victory.
Much has been said about the relationship between Clark and Reese, with the two taking their rivalry on court to the very edge of the line during meetings this season. Reese previously suggested officials have a “special whistle” for Clark, while the Sky forward received a flagrant for catching Clark in the head as she attempted to lay up.
But all that was put to one side as the 20th edition of the All-Star games brought the two together and it appears they appreciated enjoying each other’s game.
Shooting contest
The two joined forces in practice before their time as team-mates but couldn’t curb their competitive side. Taking on a half-court shooting contest, Reese was able to get the better of Clark as she banked in off the backboard after Clark had missed her attempt.

‘Like a baddie, like a Barbie’
Clark and Reese arrived at the Footprint Center in Arizona rocking two contrasting outfits. The Fever star wore a matching white and burgundy outfit as she matched her heels, bag and skirts with the red trim on her white t-shirt.
Reese opted for an extravagant matching dress and crop top as she said she felt “like a baddie, like a barbie”.
Kobe Bryant’s family watching on
Clark shared an embracing moment with the family of NBA legend Kobe Bryant. The widow of the late legend, Vanessa Bryant, was courtside with her three girls four years after Bryant’s tragic helicopter crash killed him and their 13-year-old daughter Gianna.
Reese about to go crazy for Clark
Reese showed that team rivalries were firmly forgotten for the match as she jumped out of her seat on the bench in excitement thinking that Clark was about to line up a three pointer. Instead, Clark reframed from the attempt and played a simple pass inside, seeing Reese return back to her seat.

Clark drops a dime to Reese
The two showed just how formidable they could be alongside each other as Clark dribble from deep inside the WNBA half, taking on two USA players before dropping a dime to Reese who lay in wait. They then celebrated by high fiving as the crowd went wild.

Setting records
As they have been doing all season, both players set more records. Clark set the rookie record for assists in All-Star Game with 10, but she fell just two short of the all-time All-Star Game best of 12 set by Sue Bird.
