Davante Adams Has Requested Trade From Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders and star wide receiver Davante Adams appear to be on the fast track to splitting up, and the New York Jets are a logical trade suitor.

Adams had the best years of his NFL career with Jets QB Aaron Rodgers when they were playing in NFC Championship Games together as teammates on the Green Bay Packers.

After the news broke on Tuesday, October 1, that Adams had requested a trade out of the desert, New York’s star cornerback Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner took to social media with a cryptic post that was clearly message to and/or about Adams and his newfound availability.

Gardner posted a photograph of his left hand, on which is a tattoo of a figure holding one finger up to its mouth in a recognizable gesture as if to say, “Shhh.”

He didn’t caption the photograph, though he did post it as a response to a post from Bleacher Report announcing Adams’ trade request, which indicated Gardner’s intent.

The 24-year-old cornerback is active on social media and hasn’t shied away from speaking his mind or posting messages to rile up his audience.

Obviously, without a caption it is unclear precisely what Gardner intended with his post, but it certainly fuels the already burning fire underneath the rumors that Adams could end up in the Big Apple.

The Raiders, for their part, let NFL teams know on Tuesday that they were looking for at least a second-round pick, plus another asset, in return for Adams.
