Ben Affleck has found himself in a rather odd situation with his wife, Jennifer Lopez, and his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. The actor seems to have a type and it doesn’t look like it’s working out for him too well. From being co-stars back in 2003 to now being co-parents, the two actors have been through a lot together.

The pair met on the sets of Pearl Harbor in 2000. Garner had a relatively smaller role and was also married to Scott Foley. When they met the next time as co-stars for Daredevil (2003) the Dark Knight actor was engaged to Jennifer Lopez. The two actors soon ended their respective relationships, and officially got together in 2004. They made their first public appearance together at Game 1 of the 2004 World Series, supporting the Boston Red Sox.

Ben Affleck‘s married life with Jennifer Garner started to take a turn for the worse because of his drinking problem. The actor found himself to be miserable and was looking for some kind of escape- which happened to be at the bottom of a bottle. The couple worked on their relationship and were together for a decade before finally getting a divorce.

Affleck and Lopez were engaged in the early 2000s before he met Jennifer Garner and they got married. Post his divorce from Garner, the Gone Girl actor was seen with Lopez in 2021 after almost a whole decade. Naturally, this sparked dating rumors, and the two soon confirmed their relationship and even proceeded to get engaged (again) in April 2022, and finally tied the knot on 16th July 2022.

While chatting with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Lopez spoke about her initial split with the Daredevil actor back in 2003.

 “Once we called off that wedding 20 years ago, it was the biggest heartbreak of my life. I honestly felt like I was going to die. It sent me on a spiral for the next 18 years where I just couldn’t get it right. But now, 20 years later, it does have a happy ending. It has the most would-never-happen-in-Hollywood ending.” 

The singer went on to talk about her album, how she believes in true love, and the vulnerability it takes to put that message out into the world.

It looks like Jennifer Lopez is finally going to speak about what she truly feels about Affleck’s ex-wife and their unique equation. According to Radar Online, the feud began with Garner’s comment toward Lopez claiming that she has turned Affleck into a “laughing stock”

Garner was very open about the fact that she didn’t like seeing herself or Affleck in the news, because she despises the social media memes about their life.

“I really work hard not to see either of us in the press,” Garner shared about her and Affleck, 50. “It doesn’t make me feel good, even if it’s something nice about one of us.

“I don’t need to see anyone in my family made into a meme. Although, I’m sure he’s quite meme-worthy, yes!”

Apparently, Lopez took that comment to be spiteful, and thought it implied that Affleck is “miserable” and all his public appearances seem forced. However, she decided to stay silent and avoid creating a scene, effectively putting Ben Affleck in the referee position.
