Mean Girls’ Regina George stars Rachel McAdams and Reneé Rapp have united for a very special occasion, with fans sent into a total frenzy.

Hollywood actress Rachel, 45, who was at the helm of the OG Mean Girls movie in 2004, appeared on Saturday Night Live last night. Her appearance came so that she could introduce musical guest Reneé Rapp, 24, who portrays the iconic role of mean girl Regina in the 2024 musical remake of the box office smash hit.

Reneé appeared on stage on last night’s SNL episode as the musical guest to perform the hit she wrote for the movie, Not My Fault, with her even joined by iconic rapper Megan Thee Stallion.

Rachel and Reneé’s union came after the OG Regina George didn’t take part in any of the recent Mean Girls events and gatherings. There was a Walmart commercial recently that saw OG Mean Girls stars Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert reunite, but Rachel was not part of this.

Also, Lindsay appeared at the New York City premiere of the remake and even made a cameo in the movie as well.

Fans have since reacted to Rachel and Reneé’s joint appearance on SNL, with one person taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to pen: “This is simply iconic.” Another then echoed: “DESERVED. Two icons!”

“That was a nice gesture from her,” said another, while a fourth wrote: “Omg she don’t be leaving her house for nobody! Reneé really won that’s crazy.”

While a fifth person added: “What a delightful surprise! Rachel McAdams introducing Reneé Rapp on SNL adds a special touch. Their collaboration is sure to be a highlight.”

The new Mean Girls movie has been met with a mixture of positive and negative reviews. With a 70% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 65% Audience score, the site states: “As long as you can avoid comparing it to the original — and you don’t mind musicals — Mean Girls is a fun watch with some strong performances.”
