As Jennifer Garner’s kids approach adulthood, the mother of three is confident in their potential.

The Golden Globe winner, 51, explained that the three children she shares with ex-husband Ben Affleck – Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, are ‘really solid right now’ as she spoke to People about parenthood.

‘I’m just watching them in this new phase of life where they’re figuring out who they’re going to be and what they’re going to study,’ she explained.

‘And I’m so interested in them,’ added Garner. ‘All the time, I’m interested in everything about them.’

Garner admitted it’s ‘so hard’ to let her kids make their own decisions.

‘I mean, my parents did too, and I’m so amazed by that,’ she said.

‘I have a really hard time not saying, “This is what I see you as,” and “I think you should…”‘ explained Garner. ‘I really have to sit on my hands.’

In fact, Garner previously turned the tables on her teen daughters as she sought advice for her Netflix body swap movie Family Switch.

‘I definitely went to my teens and asked a bunch of questions,’ she told People. ‘They were all like: “Mom, you’re crazy.”‘

In the movie, she and Ed Helms play parents who swap places with their teen kids for a day.

‘My kids are funny and they’re smart, and they work really hard,’ she said at the time. ‘And their teenage antics are at the very lowest, G-rated level, so I’m doing okay.’

‘You know what? I think my kids work so hard, and they have so much pressure on them that I could never even have imagined as a teenager myself,’ added Garner.

The Alias alum said ‘it hasn’t really sunk in’ that Violet is getting ready for college, adding that she will ‘have moments where it hits me. But so far, I’m just excited for her.’

She was married to the Academy Award winner, 51, from 2005 to 2018.

Garner and Affleck have recently been spotted together for Samuel’s basketball games, as well as his 12th birthday trip to Disneyland.

The co-parents are in talks to work together again on an upcoming Netflix film, which is directed by Affleck and could star Garner opposite his longtime pal Matt Damon.
