It could be down to Ben Affleck’s ex wife to rescue his struggling relationship with Jennifer Lopez as the Batman star turns to those who know him best in his time of need as he bids to keep his latest romance alive.

Lopez and the Pearl Harbor ace reunited in 2021 and got married in 2022, 20 years after their initial relationship, but two years on it could be hitting the rocks as the pair struggle to accommodate each other’s individual needs.

Affleck is said to be very reserved and grumpy whilst Lopez’s outgoing style and embracement of the media and paparazzi is causing friction behind closed doors, reportedly leaving the 51-year-old prepared to quit the second marriage of his life.

So it seems as though the burden could fall to his ex, Jennifer Garner, to keep his vows intact as a source talking to In Touch says Affleck believes she is the “only one” who can save him thanks to their deep trust.

“Jen’s been wonderful. She doesn’t judge,” says a source to In Touch. “Sure, Ben drives her crazy sometimes, but there’s an unbreakable bond there. Ben says Jen’s an angel and tells her she’s the only one who can save him.

“He’s given Jen the code to his house so she can come right in. Other people have to be buzzed in, but not Jen. She can come and go whenever she wants. A lot of people in Ben’s circle are worried he’ll fall apart and relapse – Jen included.

“That’s one of the reasons why she’s keeping close tabs on him. She’s spending time with him, being a good listener. No one wants to see Ben succumb to his old self-destructive habits.”

Garner prepared to live with Affleck

It seems as though Affleck’s self-destructive tendencies can be so great that Garner, the mother of his three children, feels as though she might even need to live with the actor to keep a far closer eye on him and to be there whenever he urgently needs her.

So with that in mind, the mother of Violet, Fin and Samuel Affleck has a space at his 10000 square-foot home of her own, despite it being just a few blocks away from where she lives with her current boyfriend.

“Things are very good between them,” the source adds. “She cooks in his kitchen and has moved a few of her things there in case she needs to stay over.”
