One of Aaron Rodgers’ former teammates has given a significant update on the quarterback’s whereabouts following his absence from New York Jets mandatory minicamp.

Aaron Rodgers has found plenty of ways to make headlines this offseason, some of it unrelated to football. His absence from mandatory minicamp was, of course, football-related and awfully baffling to the Jets community.

Head coach Robert Saleh tried easing things for Jets fans by telling reporters that he and Rodgers were “on the exact same page” during the four-time MVP’s absence from minicamp, per ESPN’s Rich Cimini.

Well, the unsolved mystery of Rodgers’ absence has finally been cleared up. And the source was a rather unlikely one: His former Green Bay Packers teammate and current Buffalo Bills wideout, Marques Valdes-Scantling.

Speaking to Jason McIntyre on “The Herd”, Valdes-Scantling revealed that he did a training session with Rodgers in Los Angeles. MVS and McIntyre confirmed that the future Hall of Famer is back in the United States following a vacation in Egpyt:

So there you have it, Jets fans. Aaron Rodgers is back home and will (presumably) get back to football business with training camp approaching.

Rodgers missed all but a few snaps in his first season with the Jets, having unfortunately suffered a season-ending Achilles tear in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills. But the 40-year-old is recovered and will be good to go come Week 1, when the Jets visit the San Francisco 49ers on “Monday Night Football” to kick off the season.

Jets general manager Joe Douglas wasted no time trying to improve the roster around Rodgers following a wasted year. He bolstered the leaky offensive line by bringing in Tyron Smith, Morgan Moses and John Simpson before using a first-round pick on Olu Fashanu.

Douglas also signed former Los Angeles Chargers star wide receiver Mike Williams, giving Rodgers another playmaking weapon to complement Breece Hall, Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard.

Throw in the Jets’ stingy and borderline top-10 defense, and you have a team that has all the makings for a Super Bowl contender heading into 2024.
